A common aircraft drill bit, imperial threaded shank drills are used in confined spaces where standard chuck drills can’t operate. Tough and rigid, they are often used in offset or angled drilling applications. The threaded element of the drill is countered by the direction of the drilling machine chuck to ensure the drill bit doesn’t fall out in manufacturing or MRO environments.Threaded shank drills are manufactured to NAS 965 and are available in different length sizes per diameter to cover most hard to access drilling applications in the aerospace industry. Made from industrial grade NAS HSS, they have been toughened with superior strength and run-off characteristics. Black oxide treated for corrosion resistance and increased lubricity.
