Phantom HSS TiN Tipped Jobber Drill Bit 118°.
Phantom HSS TiN Tipped drill bits with a 118°-point angle and split point as standard. Precision ground flutes and point manufactured from high quality HSS. The TiN tip is a thin coat of Titanium Nitrate that is a poor heat conductor, this property helps deflect the heat to the exiting material and not the drill, improving tool wear and performance. Many applications do not use the full length of the drill flute, therefore only the tip of the drill is coated ensuring a better value proposition on a bright HSS jobber drill.The coated TiN tip on these drills reduces friction upon drill entry and during the initial drilling phase. The end result is an increased resistance to tool wear and a significant improvement in the drills performance under greater speeds and feeds. Coatings come into their own on machine tools.
